The film “Bachchhan Paandey,” starring Arshad Warsi, Kriti Sanon, and Akshay Kumar, was released in March 2022. The movie has been out for two years, but did you know that, according to a story, the Bachchan family did not like the title of the picture and was opposed to it?

According to a Times Now article citing a source, Jaya Bachchan personally called producer Sajid Nadiadwala and informed him that using their family names for his film would not be appropriate. She went on to beg him to take it off. Sajid, nevertheless, said that he was unable to address the situation at this time since the movie was just a few days away from its premiere. The producer said that changing Bachchan’s spelling in the title could be the only thing he could do.
The Bachchans were displeased because Shri Harivashrai Bachchan, the pen name of the Bachchan family, really goes by Shrivastava. They thus believed it was inappropriate to use for a movie. As a result, the movie’s title was abruptly altered.
When Akshay was questioned about the movie’s title during its marketing, he responded with a joke, saying that he came up with it after seeing Abhishek Bachchan and Chunky Pandey together.
Ultimately, the movie proved to be a failure at the box office. The 2014 Tamil film Jigarthanda, which in turn drew inspiration from the 2006 South Korean film A Dirty Carnival, was officially remade as “Bachchhan Paandey.”
