<p>A study conducted by Onsurity, a subscription-based employee healthcare benefits platform, in collaboration with the Knowledge Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), found that a startling 43% of Indian tech professionals experience health issues as a result of their work, with long work hours being identified as one of the major contributors to poor health.</p>

<p>According to a research titled “Burying the Burnout: Decoding the Health Challenges of India’s Tech Geniuses,” work-related stress is the primary cause of the escalating health problems among Indian tech workers.</p>
<p>It went on to say that as the government wants to see more technology contribute to the GDP of the nation, businesses need to prioritize the welfare of their workforce. The Onsurity-KCCI study’s findings provide insight into the obstacles to realizing the full potential of the nation’s IT workforce.</p>
<p><strong>Principal Results:</strong></p>
<p>The average weekly work hours for computer professionals in India are more than 50% higher than the 47.7 hours per week for the whole country.</p>
<p>A startling 55% of IT workers have said that their health is greatly impacted by working late hours.</p>
<p>Acidity, stomach troubles, back and neck discomfort, irregular sleep cycles, stiff muscles, problems with vision, weight gain, and severe headaches are some of their main worries.</p>
<p>A little over half of IT workers have admitted to having mental health issues. As a result of stress, anxiety, and despair, their ability to cope is being undermined.</p>
<p>More than 26% of computer workers report having disturbed sleep patterns, with more than 51% averaging 5.5 to 6 hours per day.</p>
<p>Family gatherings and holidays are missed by 74% of techies because of job obligations.</p>
<p>Extended Working Hours</p>
<p>More than 50% of IT workers in India work an average of 52.5 hours a week, which is problematic as it exceeds the 47.7 hours per week national average, according to the report.</p>
<p>Unbelievably, 55% of these professionals said that working late had a negative influence on their health, resulting in difficulties with weight gain, acidity, stomach troubles, back and neck discomfort, irregular sleep cycles, muscular stiffness, and severe headaches.</p>
<p><strong>Mental Well-Being</strong></p>
<p>Furthermore, about 45 percent of IT workers have admitted that stress, anxiety, and despair are negatively impacting their mental health.</p>
<p>More than 51% of techies only receive an average of 5.5 to 6 hours of sleep every day, and over 26% of them report having worsened sleep habits. Moreover, a noteworthy 74% of techies report that their jobs are causing them to miss out on important family occasions and holidays. These results highlight the significant health and well-being issues that Indian IT workers confront.</p>
