Mohammed Shami is “glad to be back in India” and is “ready to embrace the next chapter” after surgery

<p>Following heel surgery in London, Mohammed Shami, an Indian fast bowler, has returned home. Shami, who concluded as the 2023 ODI World Cup’s top wicket-taker, allegedly had injections to ease the discomfort from an ankle ailment.</p>

<p>Shami allegedly went to London to get surgery on his achilles tendon in order to solve the issue.</p>
<p>“I’m happy to be back in India after surgery. stronger and more prepared to welcome this new era. I appreciate all of your kindness and support, everyone. Shami posted some words on social media along with a few photos from her return journey.</p>
<p>The pacer will not play in the forthcoming Indian Premier League season, the BCCI said earlier this week.</p>
<p>On February 26, 2024, the fast bowler Shami had successful surgery to treat a heel issue. He is not permitted to participate in the forthcoming IPL 2024 and is being watched after by the BCCI medical staff, the BCCI said in a statement.</p>
<p>The Gujarat Giants, who have advanced to the championship game the last two seasons, will suffer greatly from Shami’s absence. Star all-arounder Hardik Pandya, who helped the 2022 winners win the IPL championship in their first season, was moved.</p>
<p>During the ODI World Cup last year, the 33-year-old Shami claimed 24 wickets and was a key player in India’s undefeated journey to the championship game. Due to the ankle problem, he was unable to participate in the South Africa trip or the most recent home five-match Test series against England.</p>
<p>Shami has received the Arjuna Award lately. Since making his debut for India in 2013, he has amassed 448 wickets in all forms.</p>
<p>Prasidh Krishna, a fast bowler, will also miss the whole 2024 Indian Premier League as he heals from surgery on his left proximal quadriceps tendon. Krishna sustained the injury in January of this year during a Ranji Trophy match between Gujarat and Karnataka.</p>
