The corporation plans to double its present capacity in Sri City by adding three lakh units in the 2024–25 fiscal year. The business anticipates increasing its overall capacity by 12 lakh units per year in addition to the six lakh units at the Himachal site.

Blue Star’s managing director, B Thiagarajan, predicted that the number of rooms with air conditioning will increase by 20% in the forthcoming summer season, after a year of mild demand. Its volume in the A/C room is anticipated to reach 10 lakh units this year (FY24) and 13 lakh units in FY25. He did, however, warn that the Lok Sabha elections might impact the demand.

“The country’s A/C sales are growing due to a significant demand from first-time buyers and non-metropolitan areas.” According to sources, a new, inexpensive A/C system is also planned for after the election, which might increase demand nationwide, he said.

Blue Star is now the second-biggest competitor in the room A/C industry, with a share of around 13.75%. In two years, the firm wants to have at least 15% of the market.
