Irrfan’s wife Sutapa criticizes Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal, calling it “overrated,” after Kiran Rao

<p>Despite facing backlash for films like as Kabir Singh and Animal, Sandeep Reddy Vanga remains steadfast in his decision-making. Even though Animal was a huge hit, stars like Kiran Rao and Javed Akhtar didn’t enjoy it. Now, novelist Sutapa Sikdar, the late Irrfan Khan’s widow, has revealed her feelings on the Ranbir Kapoor film.</p>

<p>“An overrated show or a film in recent times?” was the question posed to Sutapa during an interview with iDiva. The question was disregarded by Babil Khan, who was present during the interview. But Sutapa said, “Animal.” Key parts in the global box office success Animal, which featured Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna, and Anil Kapoor, were played by these three actors.</p>
<p>Babil spoke warmly about his father being a close friend to him throughout the conversation. “I’ve never laughed like that,” he said. I simply don’t think things are amusing anymore, and I feel like there’s a big hole in the world when it comes to laughing. I don’t believe I will ever make or find friends since I have never done so. I’ll be open to the idea, but to be honest, I’ve never had a buddy quite like him.</p>
<p>Sutapa said that Irrfan had made her the “bad cop” and added, “He (Babil) was a rebel, and you know what’s fortunate is that I don’t have that privilege right now—that when there are two parents, one can be a good cop and the other a bad cop.” Thus, I was always the evil policeman. And ironically, I became a horrible officer because of his father.”</p>
<p>A star in his own right, Irrfan Khan made a lasting impression on the film industry. The actor would have been 57 today, but he died suddenly in April 2020. Irrfan had a brief part in Salaam Bombay, his cinematic debut.
